The start of February had been amazing for us. On February 1, we went ice skating in Oakland, CA, it was very fun to skate for almost two hours with our friends and teachers. After ice skating, we were all so tired and sore, but we got through it since we had bible study afterward on the Book of John given by Vivian Park! Yay! Be sure to join us next Friday for more fun activities!
Last Friday, we just covered the end of the book of Mark. So we’re going to dive into the book of John next Friday. After last Friday’s bible study, our post activity with Josh and Rubin was amazing and fun as we were playing Jeopardy with random categories. Thanks Josh and Rubin!
This past Saturday, we went to Sierra Lodge to have some fun in the snow. We had fun snowball fights, sledding, and building a gigantic igloo. (picture below) It was also amazing that we were able to spend quality time with each other.
This week, we had Flex Friday, where we split up into smaller groups and bond throughout the night. After dinner and content, each group had time to hang out, which included playing games, making desserts, and watching basketball.
This past Friday, we had our annual Christmas party and gift exchange. We started the night with a pot roast dinner followed by a brain scrambling ice breaker. We heard a message from two of our seniors about value and how that plays out in our lives. Then, we had an exciting gift exchange led by two of our junior students. Throughout the night, we enjoyed a dessert bar, a photo booth, and background music performed by the AHS jazz band.
For Element Friday this past week, we continued with our Why Jesus series, with Fan giving the content! We started the night with a creative icebreaker led by Josh and Rubin. After the content, people had a blast playing various board games and enjoying the cereal bar. One more week until winter break, so hang in there students during finals!!
