ELEMENT HS | HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Happy New Years Element! Hope you guys had a great break and got to spend a lot of quality time with your families. The break is over and Element is back! 

We staff got treated to a wonderful time of learning an equipping over the break while you were away with our annual staff retreat right here at HB. All of us were really blessed as we got to hear stories of some of Christianity's great men and women of the past. For some of you who were around you had a chance to join us as we counted off the last few minutes of 2016 and welcomed in a new year together with a live orchestra and choir performance, a great message from Pastor Ed and a chance to reflect over the past year and all God has done. 2016 was truly great!

As we enter into a new year, that means a new verse. This year's verse is John 12:24 - "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." As each of us got to see examples of men and women who lived this verse to it's fullest - making sacrifices for God and seeing powerful results - all of us were challenged to do the same.

Our first event of the year will be home group bible studies this Friday (1/6) We can't wait to see you guys and hear what you were up to and we are all looking forward to another year of serving God together with you in Element!

ELEMENT HS | WHAT HAPPENS IN A WEEK?

Hey y'all,

The most recent posts have been about big or special events like the Christmas party or such, but you might be wondering, "Gosh, I wonder what happens at Element in any given week?" Maybe you look at the weekly updates and see things like Element Friday and Element Gathering, but you don't really know what that is.  Don't worry, it's my job to show you what's going on at Element!

Here's a quick run down of some events and what we did this past week.

Element Friday differs from week to week.  Sometimes we like to meet in smaller and cozier groups and gather in people's homes.  Then when we start to miss the other people in Element, we meet all together at the High School room at HB.  Whenever we gather for Element Friday, you can expect three things for sure: Food, a Study on the Bible, and Fun!

Element Gathering is when we come all together to worship God with and to learn a bit more in depth from the Bible. Sometimes we'll go through an extended series, at other times we learn about specific topics. Regardless, we try to learn more about how the Bible intersect and relates with our lives.

ELEMENT HS | CHRISTMAS PARTY!

Thanksgiving was a few weeks ago and now it's time for the next and final holiday of the year, Christmas!  Tis the season to be jolly, to put on your best good boy or good girl act to stay on Santa's Nice list, and for department stores to make some money!  Some of you might have written a wish list or sent a letter to Santa and are hoping to get that really awesome laptop or sweet new camera or those nice jeans, but have you taken a second to think about why we celebrate Christmas?  If it was all about the gifts and happy music, why isn't it called Gift-mas?  Okay, that was bad, but really Christmas started out as a celebration of the birth  of a man named Christ.  At Element, we're going to bring that back!  Come join us for our last Friday night of 2016!  We'll also have some food and some fun activities.  See you there!

ELEMENT HS | JOYLAND KICK-OFF

Congratulations to the student leaders for making it through our first week of Joyland! They have been working hard during our midweek and Sunday morning preparation times to put on a fun and engaging program for the Joyland kids. Although there were some bumps this first week, both our student leaders and Joyland kids had a blast and are excited for the coming weeks.
